On the morning of October 10, the Kingdom Mind Talk was held in Jiaxing. Ren Weiming, Chairman of the Board of Kingdom Holdings, attended the meeting and delivered a keynote address, systematically expounding on two major themes: management’s external communication, as well as the corporate vision, mission, values and strategic system. A total of 124 mid- and senior-level managers and management trainee representatives of the company attended the meeting.

Open Communication, Clear Boundaries: Clarifying Guidelines for Management’s External Communication

Chairman Ren Weiming encouraged management to engage in normal exchanges with customers, suppliers, peers and industry partners, to build relationships and learn from one another, but emphasized that openness does not mean the absence of boundaries, and clarified ten guidelines for Kingdom’s management regarding external communication and information boundaries.

The meeting set out clear requirements for management: be warm externally, be responsible internally; communicate with wisdom, and respect information boundaries.

Sharing Kingdom’s Vision, Mission, Values and Strategy

At the meeting, Chairman Ren Weiming put forward a new corporate vision, mission and strategy while keeping the core values unchanged, aiming to anchor Kingdom’s development direction for the next ten to twenty years. Over the past two decades and more, Kingdom has been deeply engaged in the flax yarn core business, highly focused on “spinning a good yarn.” Facing changes in the external market environment and the extension of customer needs, the company will upgrade from single manufacturing to supply-chain organizational capability, and convert product advantages into trust advantages across the industrial chain.

Kingdom will continue to focus on building its capabilities in R&D innovation, customer operations, data and supply-chain organization, working in synergy with global flax industry partners.

Building the Three Trusts to Drive Strategy Implementation

In terms of strategy implementation, Chairman Ren Weiming proposed the goal of building the “Three Trusts,” requiring all departments to examine, from their respective positions, the actual value of their work in reinforcing these three trusts.

The meeting raised new requirements for management: managers should not merely be problem solvers, but should also take on the roles of talent cultivation, system building and long-term capability construction. Chairman Ren Weiming emphasized that strategic consensus brooks no delay, and can be formed into phased final drafts and iteratively improved in practice. He particularly noted that the vision, mission and strategy should not only clarify “what to do,” but also delineate the boundaries of “what not to do.”

In his concluding remarks, Chairman Ren Weiming said that over the past twenty-six years, Kingdom has achieved one of the industry’s leading positions in the yarn business through its focus; looking ahead, the company will upgrade its focus and build trustworthy, transparent and sustainable natural linen products and supply-chain solutions. He called on all management personnel to align their direction and value standards, and work together to create a successful future for the team, the enterprise and its partners.
